Ironvale Siege
Ironvale Siege is the kind of tower defence I keep coming back to. You defend a mountain pass across branching lanes, and the twist is a resource economy that forces hard choices. Spend early on cheap towers or save for one heavy hitter? The game never lets you have both.
The tower roster is compact but well balanced. Every tower has a clear job, and the upgrade trees split each into two distinct roles, so the same base tower can become a slow-down trap or a burst cannon. That decision at wave five changes how the whole map plays out.
It respects your time too. Runs are around fifteen minutes, there's a proper speed toggle, and losing teaches you something concrete. My only gripe is a slow mid-game grind before the harder maps unlock, but push through it and the late campaign is excellent.
What we liked
- Economy layer that rewards planning
- Upgrade trees with real role choices
- Clean speed controls for busy players
